The Socorro County Chamber of Commerce is organized to promote and coordinate the civic, commercial, residential, agricultural, industrial and cultural development of the City and County of Socorro as well as to promote tourism. The Chamber will further provide creative business leadership and effective
coordination of all interested parties in solving local problems and in initiating constructive action. |

The Socorro Chamber of Commerce aggressively seeks out and
contracts prospective new industries and, in general, acts as the catalyst for industrial development in
the area. The Chamber also promotes and advances the business, commercial, economic and civic welfare of
the City of Socorro, its civic neighbors and environs. In general, the Chamber promotes economic programs
to strengthen and expand the income potential of all businesses within the trade area, promote programs
of a civic, social and cultural nature that will increases the functional and esthetic values of the
community and to discover means to enhance business expansion and community growth. The Socorro Chamber of
Commerce is incorporated and organized to promote and advance the commercial, industrial, recreational,
agricultural, health, educational, social and professional activities of the people of the Socorro area. |

Members are at the top of our organization. The
Board of Directors is selected in accordance with the by-laws; the general membership elects 9 members of the Board. The Executive Committee is the slate of officers selected by the Board of Directors to act in the interim between meetings of the Board. The Staff is employed by the Board of Directors to work for the membership in carrying out day-to-day tasks of the organization. The Committees are made up of volunteers from the general membership. This is where the real work of the Chamber is conducted. All members are encouraged to participate. Bottom line for the Socorro Chamber of Commerce is that it takes many dedicated individuals, businesses, organizations and the entire community to be successful. Socorro's volunteers and that can-do spirit is unsurpassed; a spirit any community would find attractive. |
